I don’t know if this regards to the legality of Nepali girls or not, but I think it does. I just had a look at the application form for Miss Nepal 2008. What I found in the declaration of the form was shocking.
I thought people become adult at the age of 18. Then S/he can sign any legal papers, make decisions and also legally smoke. But any one who wants to participate in Miss Nepal, regardless of this age has to get a signature from one of her parents. Ain’t that ridiculous? Well, if it is for anybody who is below 18 then, yes I would understand, but this is just stupid and seems to say that girls from Nepal don’t have the legal right to represent themselves.
